Bonnie and Clyde (1967)

Bonnie and Clyde is a 1967 film starring Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty (one of the sexiest men of all time, in my opinion). According to Wikipedia, this was one of the first films of the New Hollywood era, when the American film industry was coming out of the Motion Picture Production Code. The movie's depictions of sex and violence were revolutionary at the time. However, this movie falls into the category of movies that my boyfriend describes as "movies that are supposed to be good, but are actually pretty boring." I guess it wasn't what I expected, but it was still pretty good. Bonnie's costumes in this film are iconic, and her wardrobe includes sweaters, mid-length skirts, silk scarves, and berets. Costume design is by Theadora Von Runkle, who also did Peggy Sue Got Married.

What's sexier than a man in a fedora?

A simple 1930's cotton dress

Phallic reference? I think yes

Note the fab 1960's make up

Berets are obviously the shit

This trench coat is probably my favorite

Surprise cameo by Willy Wonka!

I didn't get a shot of the last dress, but I didn't want to give away the end of the movie. That's a joke, you know what happens! This movie really makes me want to wear a beret, but unfortunately I feel I'll have to wait until fall for that.

  1. It's surely a crime that I haven't seen this film, right?! ARGH! I absolutely want to now!

  2. this movie makes me want to smoke cigars.

  3. Aww, the last dress is my favorite! But that's okay, I love these pictures. XX

  6. I still haven't seen this but anyway I'm going to get a beret and wear it at all times :)

  9. Thanks for your comment :)

You're right, the Illuminati is from the Da Vinci code, however the book/movie talks about it in a more traditional/historical sense. The modern movement is what I'm referring to, I believe it's mainly the same concept, just in a different context. But it pretty much suggests that there are secret societies infiltrating our governments and spokespeople (celebrities, politicians, religious figures, anyone with power) in order to manipulate them and do other crazy shit. I don't really believe in it, I just find it heaps interesting! So I hope you don't think I'm some massive creep haha, xx

  10. i prefer the all-time classic pic with her in front of the car!! she's amazing!

  11. A few years back Harper's Bazaar did an editorial inspired by this Bonnie & Clyde movie and I remember falling in love with it and cutting out all the pages... The fashion in this movie is just exceptional!

Thank you ever so much for dropping by my blog! I'm so happy to find another Ohio blogger: they're hard to come by! If you don't mind me asking, what college do you/did you attend? I'm currently college searching and I was just curious!

Also, if you're inerested there's a blog for just Ohio bloggers that I'm apart of. Here's the address if you would like to visit or join:

  12. That's so cool that you attend OSU! I plan on touring it, and I'm excited because they actually have what I want to major in: fashion merchandising!

And yes, anyone can be apart of the 330 blogger collective. Just put in an application or email them. Everyone who lives in Ohio gets in :)

  13. I love love love the hair and fashion! I'm definitely not keen on the modern remake; starring Hillary Duff! Ick!
